36:1. O! Gem of a Man!
36:2. Know that this Quran with full of wisdom bears witness to the following facts.
36:3. Surely this is a testimony to the fact that you are one of the reformists.
36:4. And this Quran testifies that you are on the right path to achieve the highest goal of human life.
36:5. And this Quran is a testimony to the fact that the guidance is bestowed by Rabbu, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
36:6. The purpose of the revelation of this Quran is to warn the community that has not so far reached guidance to them or their forefathers. (See 28:46 & 32: 3) So they are acting recklessly, not knowing whether their actions are right or wrong because no one has come to warn their ancestors.
Explain your teachings to them at first and then to all the people of the world. (See 7:158)
36:7. All the precautionary messages you give to them are for creative purposes. But they refuse to accept their true status because they follow their traditional methods.
36:8. Just as the chain is tied to their necks, chains of rituals are attached to their jaws of the necks. So, they are not at all in a position to think but to follow their ancestors.
36:9. So there is a barrier before them and behind them according to the framed laws of Rabbu. They can never think for themselves about anything else.
36:10. Issuing warnings to such people or not are one and the same. How can such people be guided?
That is, a person who decides to commit suicide is not going to worry even if he is told a thousand times that taking cyanide is detrimental. How many times they have been told about the dire consequences of their wrongdoing, it does not reach their thinking.
36:11. Therefore your warnings shall have effect only on those who fear the law of consequences as framed by Rabbu: So inform good news that such people will have a secure, peaceful, and dignified life.
36:12. Communities that are dead will revive to the enlightened life with this guidance. We are recording the good deeds they have done for their future lives in the list of “Benefits of Human Actions.” We also keep a record of what they leave for their future offspring. In this way, the good deeds and evil deeds that they are all doing are recorded in detail.
Their benefits and consequences will be the measuring scale for predicting what is right and what is wrong. And future generations will follow the same social structure that they have created.
36:13. These tragic records can be explained by giving the example of a village. A reformist came to them warning them of the consequences of their wrongdoing.
36:14. Later on, two more reformists came to them one by one. But the people denied them. Then came the third reformist to them. He introduced to them, “We are the reformists sent to you.”
36:15. But the reason why they did not accept the words of the reformists was that they were all ordinary people like themselves. It means that they have no individual specialization. So, they said that these reformists are telling lies.
36:16. And the reformists said to them, “Rabbu knows that we are all reformists sent to you.”
36:17. “Therefore it is incumbent upon us to make clear the guidance of Rabbu. It is your choice to obey or reject them.” (See 18:29)
36:18. To which the people of that village replied, “Whenever we see you, you are talking about the coming destruction and misery. So, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not refrain from such talks, we will deliberately stone you to death. Or we will inflict painful torments on you from us.”
36:19. The reformists said, “All your bad omen are due to your evil deeds. Do you think that giving you good advice is a bad omen? That is the truth. You are an outrageous community. That is why you are talking like this.”
36:20. Meanwhile, someone who lived far away in the countryside heard this and came running. He was afraid that the villagers would kill the reformists. So, he instructed his community to act in the way shown by the reformists.
36:21. He also told his people to follow these reformists who did not expect any rewards from you and that they were on the right path.
Dear Intellectuals! Here too It is mentioned that all the reformists were self-sufficient and not poor.
Part: 23
36:22. And he said to his people, “Why should I not obey the guidance of Rabbu who has created me? How can I disobey His guidance when my every action consequences according to the rules set by Him?”
36:23. “Should I ignore the guidance of such a Mighty Benefactor and follow other methods or imaginary deities? If I select a wrong path and thereby face adverse consequences, can these imaginary deities rescue me?
36:24. So, if I do not follow the guidance of Rabbu, it would mean that I am in obvious error.
36:25. “So I put my full trust in Rabbu, Who created and sustains me. O My community! Listen to my call.”
Thus, he was advising his community. But they refused to accept him. He was very upset and told his community:
36:26. “We show them the way to Paradise. They should all have been aware of this fact! But they refuse to accept this fact!” He was saddened by the plight of his community.
36:27. My Rabbu has given me a safe and peaceful life, and has made me one of the honorable! This is something they must have noticed!
36:28. After that, We did not send any army from the sky to destroy them. There was no need for that. Because their evil deeds were enough to lead them to destruction.
36:29. Eventually, only one big riot broke out. It was enough for their destruction. As a result, everyone perished. All their labors were wasted and burned to ashes.
36:30. Woe to the destruction of that society! They mocked all the reformists who came to them! Eventually, all of them became the target of ridicule!
Dear Intellectuals! The purpose of presenting you this historical evidence is to inform you that heavenly life is available to those who follow His guidance to the people and the destruction that will befall the community that denies them. So, we too should try to make society better.
36:31. Thus before this, many societies perished as per the framed laws of Rabbu. The reason was that they were mocking the reformists without paying attention to the advice given by them.
Dear Intellectuals! Did you consider all these to be futile stories? Do you think that we will not have any such destruction? No.
36:32. Know that the day is not far off when you will meet the consequences of your wrongdoing according to the rules set by Rabbu. You are all ordained by Rabbu that all you will have to come together.
36:33. And all the livelihoods available to man come from the earth. The parched earth is revived with rainwater. It is from these who act according to the plan of Rabbu that the grains are released and they become food for man.
36:34. And the earth is covered with trees and vineyards. Fountains gush forth across them.
36:35. It is through such provisions of Rabbu that various fruits are grown. Do all these create by themselves? Won't you think about this and act according to the guidance of Rabbu and live with gratitude?
36:36. All the plants and trees grow on earth according to Rabbu's plan. The fact that they are created in pairs in many unknown creations and human creations reflects the uniqueness and infinite power of Allah. These are beyond human imagination.
36:37. And if you want to know the supreme power of Allah, look at the beautiful system that keeps day and night functioning. Take a look at the alternating night and day in it. Also, observe that the night is moving away from the day and the light of the day is turning into the dark.
36:38. And examine how the mighty sun works. It picks up the planets around it and is heading towards its destination. These are the rules set by the Almighty Allah.
36:39. Also, examine the functions of the moon. Examine how it grows gradually and then gradually wears off to the size of a needle. These are all its degrees fixed by Almighty Allah.
36:40. So the sun can never come close to the moon, nor can a day be dawn before the fixed time of night. The reason is that each of them revolves ahead in the galaxy in its given orbits. (Ref also 19:33)
36:41. Let them descend from the sky and examine what is happening on the earth where they live and know the infinite power of Allah. For example, look at the giant-sized ships that carry their livelihoods move fast splitting the water.
When a needle-sized object sinks, is it not surprising that ships weighing many tons float away without sinking?
36:42. Even if you count all the provisions thus made by Allah, they cannot be counted. (See 2:164)
36:43. Rabbu did not make laws for the ship to sink in water. If so, no one could have done anything against it.
36:44. The reason is that Allah's plan is for people from all walks of life to lead a better life. It is a reflection of His grace. That is why He arranged the ship to float in the sea. Only then you can live comfortably for some time.
If you want to get lasting benefits in your life you have to establish a social system according to Rabbu’s guidance. If the main purpose of that social system is:
36:45. All must live in obedience to the counsel received from Rabbu. Everyone should act in fear of the evil consequences that have occurred or will occur. Only then you will get the proper ways to have a better life.
The important thing to note here is that all other creations in the world operate under the direct control of Rabbu. (See 16:49-50) They can never act as a substitute for His command. There can be no change in their functions. That is why the universes operating under the control of Rabbu are excellent and more beautiful. But the condition of man in this world is not so. Only he is given complete freedom so that he can live as he pleases. (See 76:3) But his actions will have consequences. He can never change those consequences. That is why he is informed by the reformists about what to do and what not. Therefore,
36:46. Everyone must come forward to accept the guidance that has come from Rabbu. Only then will their society be beautiful and prosperous with all facilities. But if you tell people about it, they will not but ignore them. For example
36:47. It is bitter for them to share their livelihoods for the betterment of society. Those who refuse to accept this method say, “Had Allah willed, would He have kept them in misery? Their destiny is that they must suffer. (See also 6:149, 16:35, 43:20) Is it not unwise to ask us to spend for their progress without understanding this?”
Did you notice? They are ignorant and say it is ignorance to help alleviate the suffering of the people in the community. It is therefore an established law that a society that aims at the accumulation of wealth will face destruction. If you take this to them
36:48. They ask when the promised destruction will come. They also say, “If you are truthful in your claim, bring it before us.”
36:49. Is it something they rejoice in to experience those destructions? Just the start of a startling riot! That's what they seem to be waiting for. Can't we destroy them while they are arguing like this?
36:50. In that most horrible situation, no one can give any advice to anyone. Why so much? Unable to take care of their own family either. It is as if they are waiting for such a situation.
36:51. So when the time comes for them to reap the rewards of their deeds, the corresponding alarm will be raised. They will all come out of their dwellings and rush towards the justice of Rabbu.
36:52. Then they would cry, “What a pity! Who woke us up from our imaginary world and our graves?” They will be told, “The reformists have already informed you about the promise of the Benefactor and the time has come for that promise to be fulfilled.”
36:53. It is enough for them to raise only one alarm. They will all appear in the court of Rabbu.
36:54. And no injustice will be done to anyone at that time. You will be rewarded in accordance with your activities. That is, paradise if good deeds abound (see 7: 8) Hell if abominations abound. (See 7: 9)
36:55. Accordingly, those who do good deeds will get Paradise. They will perform their duties very happily and carefully.
36:56. They will be accompanied by their companions. They will all continue their work as they sit in reclining chairs in the cool air.
36:57. And they will have many kinds of tasty fruits. And all they need will be within their reach.
36:58. Thus the sound of peace and tranquility will be heard everywhere. These are the benefits of following the guidance of Rabbu.
36:59. But woe to the condition of the criminals who acted against the guidance of Rabbu! “Today you will not be on the list of good people. So, leave them alone.”
36:60. O human race! Have We not already informed you through reformists not to follow social enemies who act according to their own will and pleasure? Did We not inform you that they are your obvious enemies?
36:61. “We told you to ignore them and obey only Our guidance! They are definite to show you the right way!”
36:62. Those social enemies, even after explaining the truth, have misled most of you! Haven't you thought about this?
36:63. So, this is the hell promised to you as a result of your evil deeds. Nothing other than that is available there.
36:64. Enter Hell because you acted against Our commands.
36:65. In such a period they need not say anything. What they have done will betray them. Thus, their hands and feet will bear witness against them. (See also 17: 13-14 & 75: 13-15)
So Rabbu's plan is to give man complete freedom, to guide him through the reformist on behalf of Rabbu, if he acts accordingly, he will go to heaven, and if he acts against it, he will go to hell. But even if a man goes astray in ignorance, he is given the opportunity to change. Just like that, society is given the opportunity to change. It is not immediately destroyed for the wrongdoings that take place there.
36:66. O, Reformist! It is not in Our agenda to immediately dispel their vision and hearing power just because they oppose you. If We are to dispel them right away, they will be wandering here and there in search of a way out.
36:67. And if it has been in Our action plan, We could have crushed them on the spot. Then they could not have done anything. They cannot escape from it.
But Rabbu's plan is not so. It means that their quality of life must change to suit what they are doing. So, the consequences of evil deeds will occur gradually. For example,
36:68. Take human creation. He is born, grows up, and then grows old. He does not grow old immediately with his birth. Shouldn't they have thought of this?
Just like that if society goes the wrong way, its effects will gradually grow and it will come to fruition. And no child can be a child in this world. If he lives, he will have to grow old at some point. No one can change this law. That is how every society must face the consequences of wrongdoing. He cannot avoid this. When all of this is told to you, do you think that he speaks to something imaginative? No.
