بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا١
99:1. As already explained (Chapters 69-78) the uprising of the social system under Our guidance will replace the authoritarian rule in the country.
وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا٢
99:2. The position of those who have mounted wealth under the impression that no one can ever shake them will be shattered.
وَقَالَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا٣
99:3. Then, the people who never even imagined that such a situation would arise will wonder and ask how all this happen.
يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُحَدِّثُ أَخۡبَارَهَا٤
99:4. These are all things that happen as per the historical cycle. The consequences of the abuses committed by previous generations have come to the fore.
بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوۡحَىٰ لَهَا٥
99:5. All of this takes place as per the legal provisions of Rabbu, "Consequences for human actions."
يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَصۡدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشۡتَاتٗا لِّيُرَوۡاْ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ٦
99:6. At the time when such a situation arises, the trumpet will be blown to establish a just rule. They will then be divided into two groups, the Social Welfare activists and the Criminals. (36:59) Each of them will reap the rewards of their deeds.
فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ٧
99:7. If they do good deeds in that regime, they will reap its benefits accordingly.
وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٖ شَرّٗا يَرَهُۥ٨
99:8. And, if they do evil deeds, he will be punished accordingly
Postscript: This is what happens in this world in the social system that is based on the Qur’an. Refer to the three verses at the beginning of this chapter. We have taken the word earth as a metaphor for man's misrule and the word mountains to means of amassing wealth. If we take direct translation, it seems to talk about the revolution in the universe. With our current knowledge, we cannot predict how it will occur.
