بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-Directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ١
59:1. All that is in the universe and on earth are working at full speed to fulfill the plans of Allah. Thus, they all testify to the supreme powers of Allah and the fact that all His plans are based on clear wisdom.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمۡ لِأَوَّلِ ٱلۡحَشۡرِۚ مَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن يَخۡرُجُواْۖ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَنَّهُم مَّانِعَتُهُمۡ حُصُونُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَمۡ يَحۡتَسِبُواْۖ وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعۡبَۚ يُخۡرِبُونَ بُيُوتَهُم بِأَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَأَيۡدِي ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ فَٱعۡتَبِرُواْ يَٰٓأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ٢
59:2. The community, which acted against Our guidance, left their homes after their defeat on the battlefield during the first invasion. But you did not anticipate this at all. Before this, they were in the imagination that their stronghold could not be conquered by the soldiers of Allah. The reason is the indifferent courage that no one can shake them. But when they unexpectedly failed on the battlefield, they panicked and left their homes. Thus, by the invasion of the Islamists, they destroyed the houses they had maintained. O Intellectuals! You will notice that you have thousands of lessons at this event!
That is, those who fight for justice and Allah’s rule will never have fear in their hearts. Because whether they live in this world or not, they get the promise from Allah that they would have Paradise. (See 2: 154) But those who fight in favor of unjust rule have no such assurances. They are left without a chance to know why they are to fight. So, they left their homes as refugees, fearing that they would be in danger of failure.
وَلَوۡلَآ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡجَلَآءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمۡ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَلَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ٣
59:3. Perhaps if they had not decided to leave their hometown, they would have suffered a lot. Even if they had died, the torments of hell would not have been less.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ شَآقُّواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۖ وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ٤
59:4. This is because they not only acted against the guidance of Allah but also engaged in illegal activities to prevent the sovereignty created to protect the welfare of the people from all walks of life. Remember. Anyone who commits such illegal acts will receive severe punishment.
مَا قَطَعۡتُم مِّن لِّينَةٍ أَوۡ تَرَكۡتُمُوهَا قَآئِمَةً عَلَىٰٓ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيُخۡزِيَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ٥
59:5. So it is as per the law of Allah the soldiers cut down the tops of the trees of war and leave their trunks. (See 2:85). Permission was granted to wage a war against such an authoritarian regime. (See 22:39) Such action was taken to discredit them.
In order to make the enemies think that the largest force had come to attack them, the trees were cut down and burned in the hills around the city of Makkah. So, the enemies sent the message that they would surrender. Thus, you were able to capture the city of Makkah without any major invasion. (See also 48: 24-25)
وَمَآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَوۡجَفۡتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ خَيۡلٖ وَلَا رِكَابٖ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ٦
59:6. In this invasion, you did not have to ride on horses or camels to fight. Fear of the enemy is the key to your success. So, you got a lot of wealth there. Some of the previous reformists had such victory and gained the governing authority by manipulating realistic war tactics as per the canon of Allah. There can be no doubt that the guidance of Allah is ambitious in all things. It is left to human responsibility to follow them and succeed.
مَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
59:7. Thus, much of the wealth you have received from them belongs to the regime of Allah. (See 8: 1) And from there, it will be distributed to the general public. So, they will be distributed to the relatives of the soldiers who took part in the battle, to those who are destitute in society, to the physically handicapped who cannot earn, and to those who travel in the way of Allah.
كَيۡ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةَۢ بَيۡنَ ٱلۡأَغۡنِيَآءِ مِنكُمۡۚ وَمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَىٰكُمۡ عَنۡهُ فَٱنتَهُواْۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ٧
Such arrangements are made so that wealth does not accumulate among some rich people. So be content with what you get from the rule of Allah. Also, stay away from prohibited rules. Fear the perverse consequences of acting against the guidance of Allah. And remember that the punishment from Allah is severe.
لِلۡفُقَرَآءِ ٱلۡمُهَٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخۡرِجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمۡ وَأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ يَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٰنٗا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ٨
59:8. At one stage, the atrocities committed by the rebels forced the poor common people to abandon their homes and belongings. They too suffer without any living facilities. It is necessary for such people to share in the wealth gained in war. And they are true activists who seek the good pleasure of Allah and support His regime.
وَٱلَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُو ٱلدَّارَ وَٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ يُحِبُّونَ مَنۡ هَاجَرَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِي صُدُورِهِمۡ حَاجَةٗ مِّمَّآ أُوتُواْ وَيُؤۡثِرُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَوۡ كَانَ بِهِمۡ خَصَاصَةٞۚ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفۡسِهِۦ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ٩
59:9. Others have fully accepted the guidance of Allah and his followers before emigrating from their homeland. They were the ones who gave refuge to the emigrants. (See 8: 74-75) Thus they love those who emigrated from their homeland. These were also among the riches gained in the war
وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ فِي قُلُوبِنَا غِلّٗا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ١٠
59:10. And there are those who emigrated after them. They also have a share in these. But in their hearts, “O, Our Rabb! May there be an unbroken bond of affection between us and those who have already accepted your guidance! May it lead to a safer life for all of us! We hope that those who accept Your guidance will never disagree with us. We seek Your help for that. Help us to get clear understanding among us! We have no doubt that You are of great Mercy. You are the Most Gracious. Help us to develop such special qualities within us!” Thus, their beautiful thoughts transformed into prayers.
۞أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُواْ يَقُولُونَ لِإِخۡوَٰنِهِمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَئِنۡ أُخۡرِجۡتُمۡ لَنَخۡرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمۡ وَلَا نُطِيعُ فِيكُمۡ أَحَدًا أَبَدٗا وَإِن قُوتِلۡتُمۡ لَنَنصُرَنَّكُمۡ وَٱللَّهُ يَشۡهَدُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَكَٰذِبُونَ١١
59:11. These are the conditions of true followers. Conversely know about the situation of hypocrites. They have relations with those who act against Allah’s regime. At the same time, they say that they are with you. They say if you happen to leave this place we will come with you. And they say that we will not follow anyone other than you. They also say that they will help you in case of war against you. But Allah bears witness by their deeds that everything they say is a lie.
لَئِنۡ أُخۡرِجُواْ لَا يَخۡرُجُونَ مَعَهُمۡ وَلَئِن قُوتِلُواْ لَا يَنصُرُونَهُمۡ وَلَئِن نَّصَرُوهُمۡ لَيُوَلُّنَّ ٱلۡأَدۡبَٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ١٢
59:12. That is, if the activist set out for war, they will not go out with them. They will not help in battle. Even if they had participated in warfare, they would have retreated. They will not do anything to help.
لَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ رَهۡبَةٗ فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَفۡقَهُونَ١٣
59:13. This is because they fear you more than Allah. So, they are talking like this to satisfy you. They are unnecessarily afraid of you because they do not know the facts about you.
That is, not all social activists are personally hostile to anyone. They do not love only those who act against the policy they follow.
لَا يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ جَمِيعًا إِلَّا فِي قُرٗى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوۡ مِن وَرَآءِ جُدُرِۢۚ بَأۡسُهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡ شَدِيدٞۚ تَحۡسَبُهُمۡ جَمِيعٗا وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ شَتَّىٰۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَعۡقِلُونَ١٤
59:14. And these hypocrites will not meet you on the battlefield against you even if you fight. They intend to stay far from the city or in strong forts. They are so much afraid of war! And even if they all come together, they will never fight. The reason is that there is intense animosity and hatred within them. So, don’t assume that they are all united. There are many divisions within them because they are all ignorant.
كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ قَرِيبٗاۖ ذَاقُواْ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ١٥
59:15. And they are like those who lost the recent war. (See 59: 2) They faced the consequences of their evil deeds. They will also get similarly painful pains.
كَمَثَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ إِذۡ قَالَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ ٱكۡفُرۡ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّنكَ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ١٦
59:16. And the mental state of these hypocrites is the same as that of the devils. They would at first look at the people and induce them to act against the guidance of Rabbu. When its consequences begin to occur, they would turn away from them and say that fear Allah, The Nourisher of the Worlds. They would not shoulder the responsibility for those damages. These hypocrites are just like the satanic devils.
فَكَانَ عَٰقِبَتَهُمَآ أَنَّهُمَا فِي ٱلنَّارِ خَٰلِدَيۡنِ فِيهَاۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَٰٓؤُاْ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ١٧
59:17. Those who are thus provoked and those who fall prey to their temptation deserve to be punished. They will have to suffer forever. This is the punishment for those who commit unrighteous deeds.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡتَنظُرۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ لِغَدٖۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ١٨
59:18 O followers of Our guidance! You do not act like this. Fear the perverse consequences of acting against Rabbu’s guidance. Act with the view that the world of tomorrow should be better understood. The goal of success in your project can only be achieved if you follow Rabbu's guidance. So, remember that Allah knows best what you do. That is, you will reap the rewards according to your actions.
وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ نَسُواْ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَىٰهُمۡ أَنفُسَهُمۡۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ١٩
59:19. Do not become like those who lived before you, disregarding the guidance of Rabbu and degrading themselves. They have all become misguided. So, Allah's law of consequences for human deeds has disgraced them. Do not become like them.
لَا يَسۡتَوِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۚ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ هُمُ ٱلۡفَآئِزُونَ٢٠
59:20. Think for yourselves. Are those who act against the guidance of Allah and suffer in hell, equal to the dwellers of Paradise blessed by Rabbu living a successful pleasant life?
لَوۡ أَنزَلۡنَا هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٖ لَّرَأَيۡتَهُۥ خَٰشِعٗا مُّتَصَدِّعٗا مِّنۡ خَشۡيَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَتِلۡكَ ٱلۡأَمۡثَٰلُ نَضۡرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ٢١
59:21. Do you know as to who can inherit such a paradise? If the guidance of Rabbu is so ingrained in their hearts that, if they are told to act against it, they will be afraid as if the mountain explodes and fall on top of them. Such parables are given to make people think and act on this.
Dear Intellectuals! In this verse, it is said that if We place this Quran on the mountain, you will see it tremble and split by the fear of Allah. This is a proverb. We also say that the fence grazes the crop. But fences never graze any crop. We say this when anyone who is supposed to protect social harmony is found to be destroying it. Similarly, if the Quran is placed on a mountain, it will never explode. Therefore, we have given the meaning of the followers of the Quran as an example.
هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ٢٢
59:22. Such examples are given in the sense that one should submit only to the guidance He shows. Do not bow down to the management of anyone other than Allah. Because He is well aware of the obvious and hidden events happening in the world. He is the One who knows the needs of all living beings in the world and bestows blessings accordingly.
هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
59:23. Thus nowhere in the universe is there any authority other than Allah. All the creations belong to him.
ٱلۡمَلِكُ
So, the laws he has set in the universes are in practice.
ٱلۡقُدُّوسُ
No flaw can be found in any of the works He has created and in keeping them functioning. Are so perfect.
ٱلسَّلَٰمُ
He is the One who gives protection and peace from external danger.
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُ ٱلۡمُهَيۡمِنُ
He is the refuge of all because all of His works function as a framework.
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
One who has the power to make all creation reach its ultimate goal.
ٱلۡجَبَّارُ
All the creations in the world are intertwined.
ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرُۚ
Thus Allah, who is proud to be the one who has the power to make the universe take place without any shortcomings,
سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ٢٣
He is beyond human imagination with such innumerable ambitions.
Allah is not in the form of a human being. His power works in the form of special qualities in the universe and the world. Only if we understand this can we easily understand the Holy Quran.
هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُ
59:24. And all the creatures in the universe and on the earth were created by the power of Allah.
ٱلۡبَارِئُ
That is why there is perfect order in them
ٱلۡمُصَوِّرُۖ
All the creations of the world have a magnificent image.
لَهُ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ
Thus, all His action plans are excellent and all His attributes manifest His system of functioning.
يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
All the creations of the world are working at full speed to fulfill the plans of Allah.
وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ٢٤
He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
O Mankind! You all as human beings should act only according to His command.
