بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
حمٓ١
ح - The Book of All Praiseworthy - مٓ - Revealed through Muhammad Nabi
41:1. This Scripture bestowed by Allah through Reformist Muhammad deserves praise and admiration.
تَنزِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ٢
41:2. These guidelines are bestowed by The Benefactor, the infinite Merciful, Who never expects any retribution from anyone and suggests the best ways for man.
كِتَٰبٞ فُصِّلَتۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ قُرۡءَانًا عَرَبِيّٗا لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡلَمُونَ٣
41:3. This is a Scripture written in detail about all rules and regulations necessary for pleasant human life. This Qur’an is perfectly compiled in the language you speak so that Man can clearly understand and act accordingly.
بَشِيرٗا وَنَذِيرٗا فَأَعۡرَضَ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ٤
41:4. This Scripture clarifies the ways and means for achieving lasting happiness to those who act according to it, the good news of a secure life, and the adverse consequences that will befall those who act against it. Even then, most people refuse to accept it. They are not at all ready to listen to the facts.
وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا فِيٓ أَكِنَّةٖ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُونَآ إِلَيۡهِ وَفِيٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقۡرٞ وَمِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا وَبَيۡنِكَ حِجَابٞ فَٱعۡمَلۡ إِنَّنَا عَٰمِلُونَ٥
41:5. When you convey the guidance of Rabbu to them, they say, “ Our mindset will not accept the guidance towards which you call us. Because we do not like to hear them. So, this screen between you and us will not vanish. So, tell them, “You act as you wish. We are doing our routine as per His guidance.”
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمۡ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَٱسۡتَقِيمُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُۗ وَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ٦
41:6. O, Reformist! Tell them, “I am a normal human being like you. But one difference is that I am given guidance through revelation. Otherwise, my Rabbu and your Rabbu is the only one. So stand firm and act in the way He shows. Find a way to your safe life through it. If you live in a state of remorse without accepting these facts, your quality of life will deteriorate and you will have to experience misery and suffering.”
ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ كَٰفِرُونَ٧
41:7. And if you do not help the poor people after accepting Allah's guidance, you will eventually end up on the list of refuters.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونٖ٨
41:8. On the contrary, those who accept the guidance of Allah and work for creative social welfare projects will have better-living conditions. They never diminish.
۞قُلۡ أَئِنَّكُمۡ لَتَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ وَتَجۡعَلُونَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ٩
41:9. Are you refusing to accept the guidance of Allah who created the earth in two stages and made it possible for you to earn your livelihoods? When Allah is the Creator and Sustainer of all the universes, do you associate others with Him?
The creation of the earth in two periods can be interpreted as two periods running on the basis of ‘day and night’. But if we go back to the history of the creation of the earth, it can be taken to mean two stages. In the first stage, it was a volcanic eruption, and then the heat gradually subsided to the second stage of the present level. The Earth's temperature gradually decreased to the present level. The time taken to reduce each degree was fifty thousand years (see 70:4). The universe and the world were created on the basis of such a long-term plan of Allah.
وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ مِن فَوۡقِهَا وَبَٰرَكَ فِيهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَآ أَقۡوَٰتَهَا فِيٓ أَرۡبَعَةِ أَيَّامٖ سَوَآءٗ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ١٠
41:10. The waters which had surrounded the earth to subside the heat at one stage were drained out gradually (see 79:31) and its upper part turned into mountains and its lower part into the sea. And Rabbu made various blessings available through the mountains too. He has also set the four seasonal changes on earth and arranged to grow all kinds of food grains as per seasons. These arrangements were made to meet the needs of people from all walks of life. (See 56: 63-73)
Mountains help to regulate rainfall and stagnate rainwater in various parts of the world. And there is no denying fact that precious life-sustaining herbs and livelihoods are found in the mountains. These are all blessings of Rabbu. The text also states that the food grains are regulated in four days. That is, all the food grains in the world grow on the basis of seasonal changes. So four days means four seasons as summer, autumn, spring, and winter.
ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٞ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلۡأَرۡضِ ٱئۡتِيَا طَوۡعًا أَوۡ كَرۡهٗا قَالَتَآ أَتَيۡنَا طَآئِعِينَ١١
41:11. It was the plan of Allah to regulate the sky, which had previously been a smoky zone, and the earth, which had been mired in volcanic eruptions. The programs set in them are all about having both desirable and undesirable consequences. However, they all obeyed Allah's command to perform creatively. (13:15)
That is, none of the creations of the universe are good or harmful by themselves. But if the man uses them for creative benefits, they will bring benefits. If he misuses, they will have undesirable consequences. They have both of these inbuilt properties. For example, nuclear power is a force that has been existing since the creation of the world. Man can discover the hidden properties in them, use them creatively for power generation or he can use them to make dreadful nuclear weapons for destruction. In the same way the other creations like electricity, cinema, television, etc.
فَقَضَىٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَاتٖ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ وَأَوۡحَىٰ فِي كُلِّ سَمَآءٍ أَمۡرَهَاۚ وَزَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَحِفۡظٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ١٢
41:12. Thus, according to Allah's great plans, He created the seven zonal skies and the earth surrounding them, arranged to function in two stages as day and night. And every creation in the skies is working according to the plans of Allah. Thus, He created innumerable stars to adorn the sky surrounding the earth. He has also arranged the earth to function safely on the gravity of other planets of the sun family. (See 21:32, 36: 38-40) They also operate according to His prescribed rules. None of them has the power to change or act against His command (see 16: 49-50).
That is, the seven skies are known as the seven layers around the earth. As the sun's rays pass through them, a portion of the earth receives sunlight as well as heat energy. Darkness envelops the other half of the earth. And day and night are changing as the earth revolves around itself. It is through such arrangements of the celestial bodies that the earth receives a balanced gravity and is able to sustain life. Everything would be dark if we go beyond the sky outside of Earth's gravity.
It has also been mentioned in the verse that stars adorn the nearby sky. That is, the twinkling stars adorn the sky at night. If we take the universe as a whole, we come to know the fact that there are countless such solar systems and stars. When we look at all these works, they reflect the infinite power of the Creator. But the creation of human beings alone has some unique features with the help of which he is able to function independently. He is not forced to live in a particular direction like other creations. (See explanation 18:29)
فَإِنۡ أَعۡرَضُواْ فَقُلۡ أَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ صَٰعِقَةٗ مِّثۡلَ صَٰعِقَةِ عَادٖ وَثَمُودَ١٣
41:13. Therefore, they are warned that if they do not accept the guidance of Allah, they will face the same fate as the ‘Aadhu’ and ‘Samoodhu’ communities faced.
That is, the communities that accept Allah’s guidance will continue to study the universe, live better, and will also uphold moral values. This will give them the ability and maturity to protect themselves from the dangers posed by natural disasters. Otherwise, the community will sink into superstitions. If it lives without research of the universe, over time superstitions will grow in society, causing economic recession and eventual destruction.
إِذۡ جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلرُّسُلُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَۖ قَالُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةٗ فَإِنَّا بِمَآ أُرۡسِلۡتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ١٤
41:14. The Reformist who came to them advised them to submit only to such guidance of Allah. This is what they communicated to the people of the previous communities and for the people who will live after them. But the people raised unnecessary objections and said, “Our Rabbu would have sent angels* if He had wanted to guide us? But you are an ordinary man like us! So how can we accept your word?”
Malaika are the various universal forces that were created by Allah to keep the earth and universe under function. But the people, due to lack of knowledge, imagine them as some superpowers and mention them as ‘Angels’.
فَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَقَالُواْ مَنۡ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةًۖ
41:15. Thus, the ‘Aadhu’ community engaged in unjust acts and caused chaos in the country. When they were instructed to stop them, they very arrogantly ignored them. They were under the impression that there was no one stronger than them.
أَوَ لَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَهُمۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةٗۖ وَكَانُواْ بَِٔايَٰتِنَا يَجۡحَدُونَ١٥
But they had not realized the infinite strength of Allah to be many times greater than theirs. They were adamant even after the guidance was substantiated.
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِيٓ أَيَّامٖ نَّحِسَاتٖ لِّنُذِيقَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡخِزۡيِ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ
41:16. So the worst of the world's disasters, the storm continued for seven days (see 69: 7). Those were their miserable days. As a result, they all fell head over heels like fallen trees (see 54:19).
وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَخۡزَىٰۖ وَهُمۡ لَا يُنصَرُونَ١٦
But the suffering in the Hereafter will be many times greater than this. No one could help them.
وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَحَبُّواْ ٱلۡعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ١٧
41:17. We also guided the people of Samoodhu through Reformist Salih. (See 7:73) But they did not want to accept the guidance. They wanted to live blindly. So, they did not even know whether what they were doing was good or bad. As a result of their adamancy, they were caught in the catastrophic earthquake and perished despite the warnings given by the reformist. (See 11:65)
وَنَجَّيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ١٨
41:18. Those who followed the reformist and accepted his advice could escape by migrating from there. They were the ones who kept up His guidance.
وَيَوۡمَ يُحۡشَرُ أَعۡدَآءُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَهُمۡ يُوزَعُونَ١٩
41:19. Likewise, even nowadays those who act against the guidance of Allah will suffer. There will be no difficulty for Him to identify such criminals.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا مَا جَآءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ٢٠
41:20. They need not bring in any witnesses from outside to prove their guilt. The sense of hearing, the sense of vision, and the body impressions in them will betray their crimes. That is, the record of everyone’s activity will be around their own self. (See 17:13)
That means the crimes can be easily defected and proved through serious investigations. No one can deny this. Or the evils that prevail in the country will disclose their evil deeds.
وَقَالُواْ لِجُلُودِهِمۡ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمۡ عَلَيۡنَاۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَنطَقَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيۡءٖۚ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمۡ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ٢١
41:21. When they find those witnesses have betrayed them, they would regret it too much. Those creations will inform, “Allah has created each of us in such a way as to give perfect witness. This is the plan of Allah from the beginning. So, we must act according to the rules prescribed by Allah.”
وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَتِرُونَ أَن يَشۡهَدَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سَمۡعُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَبۡصَٰرُكُمۡ وَلَا جُلُودُكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن ظَنَنتُمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَعۡلَمُ كَثِيرٗا مِّمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ٢٢
41:22. If you want your ears, eyes, and limbs not to testify against you, you must have performed accordingly, avoiding sinful acts. But you did not. Did you mistakenly think that Allah has no chance of knowing anything you do?
وَذَٰلِكُمۡ ظَنُّكُمُ ٱلَّذِي ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمۡ أَرۡدَىٰكُمۡ فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم مِّنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ٢٣
41:23. So it was the misconceptions about your Rabbu that motivated you to commit sinful acts. The result is the misery and destruction you now experience. So today you are the losers.
فَإِن يَصۡبِرُواْ فَٱلنَّارُ مَثۡوٗى لَّهُمۡۖ وَإِن يَسۡتَعۡتِبُواْ فَمَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُعۡتَبِينَ٢٤
41:24. If you think you can endure those pains and sufferings, you will never be able to. No one will listen if they loudly apologize for their sins. Those torments will plunge him into misery, like a man falling into the fire.
Dear Intellectuals! All the happenings mentioned in verses 20-24 will happen during the time of Rabbu's regime in this world. Or occurring in the period following death. Some will receive appropriate punishment for their sinful deeds in this world. Note that Allah's law of “the ultimate result of human actions” applies uniformly everywhere in the universe
The reason for such a deplorable state of affairs is that for those who refuse to accept the guidance of Allah, everything they do seems to be beautiful.
۞وَقَيَّضۡنَا لَهُمۡ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَيَّنُواْ لَهُم مَّا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ٢٥
41:25. The wicked allied themselves with the wicked. So, they acted blindly without even thinking what would happen to them. They thought that everything they did was beautiful. (See 43:36) But torment will inevitably befall those who go astray according to the rules already ordained by Allah, to both urban and rural people. Such people will be the biggest losers.
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَا تَسۡمَعُواْ لِهَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ وَٱلۡغَوۡاْ فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَغۡلِبُونَ٢٦
41:26. Do you know the situation of the people at present? If you advise the people as mentioned in the Holy Quran, they will advise others also not to listen to it. If anyone goes beyond that, they shout out and try to stop it, as if a big riot had broken out. By doing so they are trying to block the Quranic messages from reaching the people.
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَذَابٗا شَدِيدٗا وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَسۡوَأَ ٱلَّذِي كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ٢٧
41:27. Such social enemies await severe punishment according to the canon of Rabbu. They will have to suffer a great deal of misery in accordance with the evil deeds they do.
ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ أَعۡدَآءِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلنَّارُۖ لَهُمۡ فِيهَا دَارُ ٱلۡخُلۡدِ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ بَِٔايَٰتِنَا يَجۡحَدُونَ٢٨
41:28. These are the severe punishments meted out to those who act against the guidance of Allah. They will be forever in that hell that gives rhythmic torments. None of this is due to hatred on them, but they are punishments for the evil deeds they have committed.
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَرِنَا ٱلَّذَيۡنِ أَضَلَّانَا مِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ نَجۡعَلۡهُمَا تَحۡتَ أَقۡدَامِنَا لِيَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ٢٩
41:29. At the time when those afflictions come to the fore, they will say, “O Our Rabbu! Where are those notorious people from tribal and urban, who have put us in this situation? (See also 6: 112) Send them to us. We will trample them underfoot.”
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ٣٠
41:30. But the situation of those who accept His guidance is the exact opposite. This is because they remained firm in the guidance of Allah, their Creator, and Sustainer. Such people certainly will have the support of the universal forces of nature. So, they will help society of no fear or misery. Thus, becoming a heavenly society. This is the promise of Allah. Accordingly, the support of the natural forces will be available to them in their present and future eternal life.
نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَشۡتَهِيٓ أَنفُسُكُمۡ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ٣١
41:31. Thus they will have the help and support of the universal forces of nature in their present life and the life Hereafter. In such a paradise society you will get everything you want. Get everything you ask for. But you will do whatever Allah wills. (76: 30-31)
نُزُلٗا مِّنۡ غَفُورٖ رَّحِيمٖ٣٢
41:32. Only then will that society be fully secure and continue to receive the blessings of Rabbu. As long as they continue to do so, they will continue to have a happy life (see 8:53).
وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ قَوۡلٗا مِّمَّن دَعَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ٣٣
41:33. Who could be a better man than the one who invites towards Allah's beautiful programs to create such an uplifting society? And he says that he is the foremost among those who submit completely to the guidance of Allah by performing powerful and beautiful deeds! Who could be a better activist than him?
وَلَا تَسۡتَوِي ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ وَلَا ٱلسَّيِّئَةُۚ ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِي هِيَ أَحۡسَنُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِي بَيۡنَكَ وَبَيۡنَهُۥ عَدَٰوَةٞ كَأَنَّهُۥ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٞ٣٤
41:34. So the one who works best to bring about social harmony, will not be equal to the evil ones who corrupt the society. Therefore, social disorders will gradually disappear only if you work for social welfare programs. Then those who support you will all become best friends.
وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٖ٣٥
41:35. It is not easy to create such a situation. It can be achieved only by those who persevere for social harmony and continue to work. So, it is very important to have determination, courage, and efficiency.
Such specialties can be developed only by following Allah's guidance. This is the promise of Allah.
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ نَزۡغٞ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ٣٦
41:36. So while implementing these projects, the anti-social forces will conspire to make the project a failure. Act diligently according to Rabbu's advice to control them and take protective measures. Allah knows everything and He is Omniscient. So, your effort will never be in vain.
It is not possible to attain such achievements immediately. You have to work tirelessly day or night for this. That is why this is explained to you by comparing the grand projects of creations of Allah.
وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِ ٱلَّيۡلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ وَٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُۚ لَا تَسۡجُدُواْ لِلشَّمۡسِ وَلَا لِلۡقَمَرِ وَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلَّهِۤ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمۡ إِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُونَ٣٧
41:37. Observe the changes of night and day. They are functioning properly. Also, observe the activities of the sun and the moon. These are all proofs of the supreme power of Allah. Just as they operate according to prescribed rules and time frame, you too will progress gradually if you continue to perform as per His guidance. Instead, worship of the sun or the moon will not speed up your progress. So, there is no benefit. It is just a superstition to think that they would directly support human life.
فَإِنِ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ فَٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ يُسَبِّحُونَ لَهُۥ بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسَۡٔمُونَ۩٣٨
41:38. Even after declaring this, if they behave arrogantly and do not obey the guidance of Allah, there won’t be any harm to either Allah or His creations. All of those creations carry out their duties tirelessly day and night as assigned to them. There is no break in their functioning. All the harm caused by worshiping them will come to you only.
وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنَّكَ تَرَى ٱلۡأَرۡضَ خَٰشِعَةٗ فَإِذَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱهۡتَزَّتۡ وَرَبَتۡۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَحۡيَاهَا لَمُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ٣٩
41:39. If they need further proof of the supreme power of Allah, let them study what is happening on earth. When rainwater reaches the parched earth, it regenerates and becomes green. That is, with this arrangement of Allah, lifeless earth gets life. In the same way, the society that lives without any energy is revived by the guidance of Allah and it finds out the way to live better. Thus, the standard laws for each creation have been established by Allah. Everything will take place accordingly.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلۡحِدُونَ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا لَا يَخۡفَوۡنَ عَلَيۡنَآۗ أَفَمَن يُلۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلنَّارِ خَيۡرٌ أَم مَّن يَأۡتِيٓ ءَامِنٗا يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ اِعۡمَلُواْ مَا شِئۡتُمۡ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ٤٠
41:40. That is, the activities of those who criticize the guidance of Rabbu, claiming that it is not right, will not go unnoticed. If they persist in their superstition, they will be pushed to a miserable life without any ability. Is he who is cast into hell better? Or is it better to live happily without fear in the period when the consequences of human actions are appearing? Beyond this, if they do not accept the guidance of Allah, tell them, “Do as you wish. Surely, your deeds will be rewarded according to the rules of Allah.”
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِٱلذِّكۡرِ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَكِتَٰبٌ عَزِيزٞ٤١
41:41. So those who refuse the guidance of Allah will soon experience the consequences. This law, established by Allah, will last forever.
لَّا يَأۡتِيهِ ٱلۡبَٰطِلُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَلَا مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦۖ تَنزِيلٞ مِّنۡ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٖ٤٢
41:42. So social organizations functioning in superstition will openly or indirectly conspire against you. But they cannot affect Our laws. Because all these legal schemes are blessed by the All-Knowing Almighty Rabbu. They themselves can be admirable.
مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدۡ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبۡلِكَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٖ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٖ٤٣
41:43. So their speeches and actions against Our guidance are not new. O, Reformist! They did the same to the reformists who came previously. But you are guaranteed protection from Rabbu from such opposition. Similarly, they are sure to suffer severe consequences as a result of their evil deeds.
The excuses they give to oppose Allah’s guidance are baseless. If these guidelines were in the language they speak, they will say “It would have been better if this Scripture had been in an alternate language! Can they always be allowed to utter like mantras?”
وَلَوۡ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَانًا أَعۡجَمِيّٗا لَّقَالُواْ لَوۡلَا فُصِّلَتۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥٓۖ ءَا۬عۡجَمِيّٞ وَعَرَبِيّٞۗ
41:44. If this Scripture is given in an alternative language, they will say, “Should it not be explained clearly in our mother tongue?” That is, it is bitter for the Arabs to have this Scripture in Arabic. But to those who do not know the Arabic language, this Scripture is mysterious. These are all lame excuses for their reluctance to accept.
قُلۡ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ هُدٗى وَشِفَآءٞۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِمۡ وَقۡرٞ وَهُوَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ عَمًىۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُنَادَوۡنَ مِن مَّكَانِۢ بَعِيدٖ٤٤
But for those who accept the His guidance, they will know that it shows wonderful ways to solve all the problems of human life. (See 17:82) Those who do not want to accept this will pretend to be deaf. This is how they want to live in blind superstition. So all of this advice seems to be like something which comes from remote places.
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ فَٱخۡتُلِفَ فِيهِۚ وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّنۡهُ مُرِيبٖ٤٥
41:45. Similarly, We gave Moosa Nabi a clear Scripture. That too was in the language they spoke. They adhered to them and lived better. (See 2:47) Overtime after his death, rivalry and jealousy developed among his community, which caused divisions. But We did not punish them immediately because we have already set the law that they should not be punished immediately for the wrongdoings of man (see 16:61). Otherwise, they would have had a decision then themselves. So, they are deeply skeptical of Our punishment. So they do not want to correct their mistakes.
And since man is given full freedom, Rabbu does not interfere in the decision he takes. But the consequences of every action he takes are determined. Man cannot interfere in the occurrence of those effects. Therefore
مَّنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيۡهَاۗ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّٰمٖ لِّلۡعَبِيدِ٤٦
41:46. Therefore, whichever society does good deeds, their rewards will be reaped. And any society that goes astray will suffer the consequences. So, man has to decide what kind of society he wants and act accordingly. There is no point in blaspheming Rabbu after the evil effects have arrived. Because no injustice is done to anyone from the side of Rabbu. (See 4:40)
Part: 25
۞إِلَيۡهِ يُرَدُّ عِلۡمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِۚ وَمَا تَخۡرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَٰتٖ مِّنۡ أَكۡمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحۡمِلُ مِنۡ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلۡمِهِۦۚ وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِي قَالُوٓاْ ءَاذَنَّٰكَ مَامِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٖ٤٧
41:47. It is Allah Who has determined the time frames according to which the effects of human actions will appear. Just as the time is framed for a seed to grow into a plant and then into a tree to bear fruits, or for a woman if conceives to give birth to a child, so also the time is fixed for the effects of man's evil deeds to appear. At the time when consequences in the form of torments arise, they will be questioned as to where are those deities which were considered to be equal to Allah. The fact that there is no one who can testify in their favor will then be understood.
وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَدۡعُونَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَظَنُّواْ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٖ٤٨
41:48. And the clergy, who until now had been leading them astray, will leave them. They will not come to save them from those afflictions. What is the reason for this?
لَّا يَسَۡٔمُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِن دُعَآءِ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَئَُوسٞ قَنُوطٞ٤٩
41:49. Man never becomes tired in amassing wealth. (See 100: 8 & 102: 1-2) But if he faces afflictions, he gets frustrated.
وَلَئِنۡ أَذَقۡنَٰهُ رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتۡهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَٰذَا لِي وَمَآ أَظُنُّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَآئِمَةٗ وَلَئِن رُّجِعۡتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّيٓ إِنَّ لِي عِندَهُۥ لَلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٖ٥٠
41:50. And if all his hardships are removed and he gets all living facilities, he thinks that they are all his own. He thinks others have no right on it. He does not worry about the consequences. Even if he happens to go to Rabbu, he thinks, he would be better off. (See 18:36) Let him know that these are his wrong beliefs. No one can prevent them from sufferings according to the legal rules of the consequences of human actions.
Earning wealth to one’s need is not a crime, but amassing wealth only for the luxurious life of him and his family is wrong. (Ref: 3:14)
وَإِذَآ أَنۡعَمۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ أَعۡرَضَ وَنََٔابِجَانِبِهِۦ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَآءٍ عَرِيضٖ٥١
41:51. Because as man's comforts increase, so does his tendency to ignore the counsel of Rabbu. But he will pray to Rabbu to recover from it only when it harms him.
That is, Rabbu's advice is to use the surplus wealth he has earned for public welfare programs. This must be accepted and acted upon by the people. But if he ignores this, his austerity grows. This is followed by ups and downs in society and tragic incidents such as riots and turmoil. Then he will be praying to Rabbu to save him from it.
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ مَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنۡ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقِۢ بَعِيدٖ٥٢
41:52. Even after explaining the guidance clearly to this extent, if one goes astray and refuses to accept the guidance of Allah, how worst his condition will be? Do you not see such misguided people going far away in the wrong directions? Tell them about it.
سَنُرِيهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فِي ٱلۡأٓفَاقِ وَفِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمۡ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّۗ أَوَ لَمۡ يَكۡفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ٥٣
41:53. No matter how much one ignores the advice of this Quran, man will come to know gradually through his experience and research of all the creations of the galaxies that guidance for social harmony mentioned in it is very correct. The Quran also informs the steps to be followed in human society. If you follow them, you will be assured of the benefits. Thus, the Qur'an bears witness to the fact that every word of your Rabbu is true.
Dear Intellectuals! In this verse, it is said that the Signs of Allah are found in the galaxies and within you. So, we mean His creations and human society. The reason is that about 850 verses are mentioning about His creations. Man will know through research that everything said about them in the Qur’an is true. (See 3: 190-191) The Qur'an also tells us about the way of life that man should follow. They are also the verses of Allah. If he does not accept them, he will experience them one by one and eventually realize that Allah's guidance is real.
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ فِي مِرۡيَةٖ مِّن لِّقَآءِ رَبِّهِمۡۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مُّحِيطُۢ٥٤
41:54. Remember only one thing. The law of Rabbu, “The consequences of human actions” is real. If you do good deeds, you will enjoy good results and if you do evil deeds, you will face bad consequences. But the people are still skeptical. Explain to them that every action of man is under the supervision of Allah. So, no one can escape this law of Rabbu. This is referred to as “meeting the Rabbu”
